EXTENSION OF WAR MEMORIAL AT BOMBAY SAPPERS

The extension of the Bombay Sappers War Memorial builds upon its historic legacy of courage and sacrifice, creating a dignified setting for remembrance. A strong ceremonial axis leads towards the existing memorial, framed by rhythmic stone walls, landscaped edges and trees that guide visitors through the space. The intervention creates moments to walk, pause and reflect, while allowing the names of the fallen soldiers to become an integral part of the visitor experience. The new landscape complements the historic memorial, bringing together memory, movement and place in a meaningful commemorative space.
