REDEVELOPMENT OF CANAL

The redevelopment of the canal at Koregaon Park aims to restore its natural ecosystem while enhancing the visual identity of the neighbourhood. Inspired by the relationship between water, vegetation, and the surrounding landscape, the project focuses on ecological restoration through native planting, riparian vegetation, and the revival of local biodiversity. Rather than introducing hard paving or built interventions, the canal edges are restored as a continuous green corridor where vegetation, water, and wildlife work together to create a healthier environment. The landscape and natural contours guide the experience along the canal, transforming it into a distinctive ecological feature that strengthens Koregaon Park’s identity while reconnecting the neighbourhood with nature.
