REDEVELOPMENT OF RIVERFRONT PRECINCT

Located at the confluence of Pune’s Mula and Mutha rivers, Sangam Ghat is both an important ecological setting and a place associated with ritual and social activity. The redevelopment reimagines the neglected river edge as a welcoming public waterfront, transforming the existing landscape into a civic space with broad stepped plazas, generous pedestrian areas, shaded seating and lush planting. The design creates a stronger connection between the city and the water, opening the site towards the river while providing spaces to gather, pause and experience the riverside.
