NASHIK AIRPORT ROAD

REIMAGINING RAGHOJI BHANGRE CHOWK

Inspired by the spiritual significance of Nashik and the legend of Samudra Manthan, this roundabout is designed as a welcoming gateway to the city after exiting the airport. The central droplet represents the divine nectar that connects Nashik to the mythology of the 12 Jyotirlingas and the sacred Trimbakeshwar Mahadev Temple. The surrounding basalt walls depict mythological stories through sculptural reliefs, creating a strong connection between the landscape and the city's cultural heritage. The flowing geometry of the walls, landscaped mounds, and native planting brings a sense of movement and continuity to the space, while the roads, medians, and pedestrian pathways are integrated into the overall design. The project aims to create a distinct identity for Nashik, where landscape, spatial planning, and mythology come together to create a memorable arrival experience.
